The Challenge

This manufacturer’s existing middleware infrastructure needed to be replaced with a scalable, supportable, and more robust solution.

While the current solution contained the technical functionalities required to support current needs, its scalability and throughput had been called into question.

Our Response

eBase completed a full assessment to evaluate the organization’s integration requirements on a broad spectrum that covers both internal and external integrations.

While the efforts were focused mainly on identifying the characteristics required in a replacement solution for external integration (EDI/B2B), a key discovery was made with respect to how internal application integration was currently managed.

The Results

As a result of comprehensive assessment, eBase Solutions put forward a recommendation to replace the client’s existing middleware platform with a multi-function, enterprise grade, integration platform, providing a scalable, robust and secure solution. 

Throughout this process, eBase had identified the following business drivers for this initiative:

  • Improve throughput capacity (measured in hourly volume) of existing electronic partners.
  • Gain IT organizational efficiencies through lowered total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Offer better support of trading partners’ requests for improved security protocols.
  • Support planned future business advancements and industry  expansions.

The client accepted the recommendation and awarded eBase with a contract to identify, implement and support the new integration platform.
